Avocado Toast
There’s a good reason you see avocado toast everywhere these days. Besides the fact that it tastes great, and is easy to make and customize, it’s also good for you with the “good fats” that come from avocado. For the toast, we recommend whole grain, sprouted grain or if you’re gluten sensitive, gluten free bread or rice cakes (shown here).
Avocado Toast
This may be the easiest recipe of all.
Equipment
- Chef's knife, toaster (if desired)
Ingredients
- 1 Avocado (ripe) slice in half
- 1 slice Toast whole grain, gluten free or rice cake
- Toppings of your choice
Instructions
- Start by slicing the avocado in half and removing the seed
- Place halves in a bowl and mash with a fork
- Add salt and pepper or other spices if you like
- Prepare any toppings you like (see notes below)
- Spread on toast or rice cake, add toppings and enjoy!
Notes
What’s so great about avocado toast is that you can literally add any toppings you want. For example, we like sliced radish, jalapeño peppers and jicama, but you might prefer green onions, red pepper and salsa. Experiment to find your favorites.
