Inflammation

You hear about this everywhere!

You hear about this everywhere!

Sadly, there are many things that cause inflammation. Here are a few.

If you haven’t heard of inflammation yet, you’ll want to read on. Much is being discovered and written about it these days by doctors and nutritionists concerning what we eat and how it affects us. We have found this fascinating and therefore have tried to keep up with this flow of information.

Most health care professionals have come to believe that inflammation is linked to chronic conditions like arthritis, diabetes, lupus, celiac disease and multiple sclerosis. Much research is being done into foods that can cause inflammation and how it affects us. They have learned that by limiting these foods, inflammation can be lessened and this in turn makes people feel better and in many cases, drastically better. Some of the foods that contribute to inflammation are:

  • Hydrogenated oils and trans fats
  • Processed meats
  • Sugars and sweeteners
  • Refined carbohydrates
  • Dairy products
  • Wheat products
  • Excessive alcohol
  • In general, processed foods, as they contain many of the items above

If you think this might be an issue for you, do your own research or consider talking to your doctor. Experimenting with your diet might be a good approach to feeling better, just as it has been for many others.
